Carmen in the Kitchen!

In addition to sharing her cooking ideas, Carmen has a lot to share about her own personal journey of health and wellness that is very inspiring.
Robin is volunteering her home, so with the two of them working together, this is bound to be a fun energy-filled morning.  We'll gather at Robin's kitchen island, chopping and chatting as Carmen shares her creative tips and ideas.
We're looking at the possibility of this becoming a series.  One that delves into healthy eating and happy living.  We can all have more of that in our lives.
I really hope you can join us.  It's sure to be a time that will not disappoint!

Bruch at Anne's!

Come join us as Anne opens up her home to invite us all in for a lovely brunch.  It's just before Valentine's Day, and she does love to decorate!  What a great chance to visit with some fun ladies, eat yummy food, and appreciate the Valentine's pretties!
The menu will consist of meat pasta, green salad, garlic bread, veggie quiche, cheesecake, cookies, both red and white wines and coffee. WOW!  Anne wants everyone to be sure to know this is not a 'healthy-type' meal, but it sounds pretty amazing to me!  If you have a restrictive diet or are unable to eat what she's preparing, feel free to bring something you can eat.  She won't be offended.  Don't let that prevent you from coming and enjoying the day.
PLEASE BE SURE TO RSVP TO ANNE BY MON., FEBRUARY 6TH - annewojcik@cox.net so she can prepare enough for everyone.

As always, Anne's address and directions to get there will be provided once you've rsvp'd.

The first Saturday of each month -- you know where you want to be?  That's right -- coffee, cake, and conversation at my house!  I'm still recovering from surgery, so if we can make it pot luck, that would be great!  It's your chance to bring your favorite yummy to share.  I'll have coffee and juice.  See you there!  Oh yeah, and bring a new sistah-friend.  It's not necessary to rsvp, unless you need to be reminded of my address.

House Concert!

Becca and Beth have come upon a meet-up group that arranges for local talent to play in different people's homes or backyards. A mini concert, if you will.  January showcases a somewhat of a local legend (even though he's only 19), Jacob Morris.  He will be playing in 'Lynn's' backyard in Gilbert.
Want to join us in crashing their meet up?  If so, RSVP below so we have an idea of how many of our group will be there. (Becca said the last one she went to had about 50 people).  You'll also need to go onto their meetup group website to also register.  www.meetup.com/East-Valley-House-Concerts.
There isn't an admission charge, but you are invited to leave a donation afterwards.
I think it sounds really fun.  Maybe we can get a carpool out there.  What do you say?

Concert at the MIM (Musical Instrument Museum)

Come grab a bite to eat or glass of wine with us at Cafe Allegro, the restaurant inside the MIM before enjoying the 7:30 p.m. concert performed by Allen Stone.  His music was described by one critic as “meant for those of us who like our R&B slightly unkempt and exceedingly feelingful”.  Sounds good to me!
If you're interested, please submit the form and I'll let you know the seat numbers that have already been purchased.  That way we can sit as close to each other as possible.
Tickets can be purchased on line for $40 - $45 and the sooner you get them, the better chance we have of being by each other.  www.mim.org.
Hope to see you there.  I think this will really be a fun evening!

Feed My Starving Children Volunteer Event

We did a project with this organization in the past, and many of you said it was fun and rewarding and would like to help again.  So, we will!    The new office is located in Mesa and we have a time choice of 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. or 8:30 - 10:00 p.m.  Please give me your choice, and we'll pick the time that most of you prefer.
I believe this is mainly filling boxes with food and necessities to be sent to children.  A very worthy cause.

LADIES OF LIBERTY GUN CLASS

This is aclass is provided for women only.
They cover firearm safety in a classroom setting and then offer a chance to shoot in the range.  Many people have strong opinions about guns, and this is not to promote the carrying or use of weapons. Rather it is an educational tool for protection which can be helpful for yourself as a single woman or information to teach your children about firearms.
I took this class with my daughter and it was very informative.  We also had a fun time shooting together at the targets. (Just a warning:  I can be a bit competitive.)
The cost is $65 and there will be 10 spots open, so please RSVP and pay online early to secure your spot.
